This beautiful piece is an ambrosia maple plate with an inlay of a Zebra swallowtail butterfly. I am doing a series of plates with inlays of Louisiana native butterflies. This one is the first.
The butterfly is an inlay of Black tourmaline, shell and man made ruby. The inlay process is done completely by hand.
Plate size is 7 5/8 inches
